Dr. Robert Gross has completed recertification for ABMS Board Certification in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine

Family Medicine Center of Canyon's, Dr. Robert Gross's recertification process is complete from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. This has been a year long process of testing, researching and providing an assessment of practice performance, implementing a quality improvement program and then demonstrating, quantifying and reporting those improvements.

While each Medical Specialty Board varies in their requirements to maintain Diplomat status within the Board, most are designed to assess important physician characteristics: Professionalism, Self-assessment and Lifelong Learning, Cognitive Expertise, and Performance in Practice. They are then required to participate in activities that evaluate each of these components between recertification examinations. Dr. Robert Gross is the only physician with this designation within the Potter/Randall County region.

We are fortunate to have to all our doctors at FMC Canyon Board Certified and working to maintain that certification.

We are pleased to announce that Barbara Jensen, FNP-BC, joined the Family Medicine Centers group of providers. Barbara just recently completed her Nurse Practitioner training, although she has a long history of working within the Amarillo medical community as a RN. Barbara will be working at Family Medicine Center on Coulter.

We are pleased to announce that Kelly Linley, PA-C, joined the Family Medicine Centers group of providers. Kelly is relocating from Fort Worth, Texas, where she has been working at the Rockwood Medical Clinic. She is an Amarillo native, so she’s returning home and we’re excited to have her join us!
Kelly will be working both with Long-Term Care and at LivingWell.

WITH FLU SEASON UPON US, FAMILY MEDICINE CENTER ON COULTER IS COMMITTED TO KEEPING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HEALTHY. FLU SHOTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT FAMILY MEDICINE CENTER ON COULTER AND IT IS RECOMMENDED TO RECEIVE YOUR VACCINE SOONER THAN LATER.

IN FACT, VACCINE EXPERTS RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE SIX MONTHS AND OLDER SHOULD GET A THE SEASONAL FLU VACCINE. THE SEASONAL FLU VACCINE PROTECTS AGAINST THREE INFLUENZA VIRUSES THAT RESEARCH INDICATES WILL BE MOST COMMON DURING THE UPCOMING SEASON.
